The Big Now is looking for a UX Specialist who will be responsible for setting up, running, and reporting on all aspects of qualitative and quantitative user experience research. The goal of the UX Specialist is to develop a deeper understanding of Agency clients and deliver findings that can translate insights into action.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collects, reviews, and assist in refining client requirements
  • Partners with Business Systems Analysts and the UX and Design team in collecting briefs and prioritizing business questions.
  • Participates in short- and long-term project efforts with stakeholders and IT groups
  • Designs and conducts user research using methods such as ethnographic field studies, participatory design sessions, site visits, focus groups, benchmark studies, usability studies, heuristic evaluations, and similar approaches
  • Converts research findings into actionable results.
  • Designs prototypes, screen mockups, and wireframes based on the results of usability testing and customer feedback
  • Communicates analysis, recommendations, and potential design solutions verbally and through documentation to the project team and key stakeholders including product managers, visual designers, and other UX and Design team members.
  • Works collaboratively with interaction designers and other user experience professionals to define and improve the user experience
  • Helps maintain the UX research library and toolkit.
  • Keeps abreast of competitor products and industry trends

PROFILE 

  • 3+ years of experience in conducting user experience research using a variety of research methods
  • Background in project management and research
  • Familiarity with the production of design documents such as wireframes, personas, user flows, behavioural specifications and similar
  • Knowledge of one or more design tools such as OmniGraffle, Axure, Sketch, Invision, Balsamiq or similar
  • Knowledge of the main Analytics tools (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics)
  • Knowledge of the main UX Design Methodologies
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript is a plus
  • Knowledge of the current design paradigms
  • Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture
  • Ability to collaborate with visual designers and front-end developers
  • Good level of English language, both written and spoken
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Effective time management and project management skills
  • Team working and collaborative attitude
  • If necessary is able to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
